Keeping Tooth, Not Removing It

A filling has one job: take out what is decayed, seal what is left, and hold up under a bite that lands on it thousands of times a day. Modern bonded materials let us do that while cutting away far less healthy tooth than fillings once required.

We numb first, work under magnification, and check the bite before you leave, so the tooth feels like a tooth rather than something you have to think about.

Premium Dental Fillings

Restoring Strength and Beauty to Your Smile

At our clinic, we specialize in bringing your teeth back to their natural strength and beauty with high-quality dental fillings. We understand that every patient’s needs are unique, which is why we offer a range of filling materials to ensure the best fit for your oral health and lifestyle. Combining our expertise with the latest dental technologies, we guarantee that your filling procedure is comfortable, effective, and completely tailored to you.

Dental fillings are one of the most common treatments used to repair minor tooth decay or damage, such as cavities or small fractures. The process involves removing the decayed portion of the tooth and filling it with a material that restores both the strength and function of your tooth. With today’s advanced materials, we can also ensure that your fillings blend seamlessly with the natural color of your teeth, enhancing your smile’s appearance.

Your Options

A Closer Look at the Types of Fillings We Offer

Composite Resins  A popular choice for their ability to blend naturally with your teeth, these fillings are both durable and aesthetically pleasing. They bond directly to the tooth, supporting its structure and allowing for a more conservative preparation.
Amalgam Fillings  Known for their strength, these silver-colored fillings are an excellent choice for back teeth where chewing pressure is highest. While they aren’t as discreet as other materials, they are highly effective for large cavities.
Ceramic FillingsMade of porcelain, ceramic fillings are not only durable but also resistant to staining and wear. They offer a natural look and are a great long-term option for those seeking strength and beauty.
Glass Ionomer FillingsOften used for children or below the gum line, these fillings release fluoride to help protect the tooth from further decay. While not as strong as composites, they provide additional benefits in specific cases.

When The Dentist Says No Fizzy Drinks

The short version of why we keep mentioning it. Fizzy drinks soften enamel, and softened enamel is what ends up needing filling.

Our Approach To Fillings

The most valuable thing in the tooth is the tooth. Decay is removed to the point where it stops and no further, the margin is finished where you can clean it, and the bite is adjusted properly rather than left for you to wear in.

If a tooth needs more than a filling can honestly give it, we will say so before we start rather than halfway through.

Your Filling Questions, Answered

The tooth is numbed first, so you should feel pressure and vibration but not pain. If the injection itself is what worries you, say so. Topical gel and a slow, steady technique make a real difference.

Tooth-coloured composite bonds to the tooth, so less healthy tooth has to be cut away to hold it, and it is shaded to match. Amalgam and other materials still suit some situations, particularly very large cavities under a heavy bite. We will tell you which one the tooth actually needs.

It depends on the size of the filling and the mouth it sits in. A small bonded filling in a low-risk mouth can last many years; a large one under heavy grinding will not. Fillings are replaced when they leak or break, not on a timetable.

Sensitivity to cold for a few days, sometimes a couple of weeks, is normal after a deep filling. What is not normal is pain that wakes you at night or pain on biting that keeps getting worse. Ring us if that happens.

Not always. If decay has reached the nerve, a filling alone will not settle the tooth and it will need root canal treatment or, occasionally, extraction. You will be told which of the three you are looking at before anything starts.
