Prioritize Your Oral Health with Regular Dental Checkups

Prevention, Not Repair

A check-up is the cheapest appointment you will ever have, because it is the one that stops the expensive ones. We look at every tooth, the gums around them and the soft tissues of the mouth, and we take x-rays only when they will change what we do next.

You leave knowing exactly where you stand: what is healthy, what we are keeping an eye on, and what needs doing, with the cost written down before anything is booked.

Your Journey

What Happens During a Dental Checkup?

Comprehensive Examination

We thoroughly examine your teeth, gums, and mouth to catch any potential problems.

Professional Cleaning

Your teeth will be professionally cleaned to remove plaque and tartar buildup, leaving them fresh and clean.

Personalized Advice

Based on our findings, we’ll offer tailored advice to improve your oral care routine at home.

Ongoing Monitoring

Regular visits allow us to monitor your oral health over time, ensuring long-term dental care.

Our Approach To Check-Ups

We would rather find a problem at two millimetres than at ten. That means looking properly, recording what we see so the next visit can be compared against it, and saying so when the honest answer is that nothing needs doing.

How often you come back is decided by your own risk, not by a standard six months for everybody.

Your Check-Up Questions, Answered

It depends on you. Someone with healthy gums, no decay and a low-risk diet may safely go a year or more between visits; someone with active gum disease needs to be seen far more often. We set the interval from what we actually find, and we tell you why.

We examine every tooth, chart the health of your gums, check the soft tissues of your mouth, lips and tongue, and review any x-rays. Then we go through what we found and what, if anything, needs doing. You are not committed to anything on the day.

No. X-rays are taken when they show us something an examination cannot, such as decay between teeth, bone levels or the state of an old root filling, and not on a fixed timetable. How often you need them depends on your own risk.

A check-up and a hygiene appointment are two different things. The check-up is the examination; scaling and polishing is done at a hygiene visit, which we will book alongside it if you need one.

You will know the fee before you book, and if the examination shows that treatment is needed you get the full cost in writing before anything starts. Nothing goes ahead until you have agreed to it.
